A Landscape of Imagination, Health, and Celebration

about this project

This Health and Lifestyle Farm is a distinctive accommodation, training, and entertainment destination set within the natural landscape west of Gqeberha. Initially inspired by the imagery of Wakanda—a symbol of African excellence and cultural pride—the project aims to create an Afrocentric resort experience that celebrates heritage, innovation, and connection to place.

The master plan is organised along an active street that connects to a central activity space. At its heart, a conference and wedding facility serves as the social anchor, with accommodation, training, and leisure spaces woven into the natural landscape. Buildings are sensitively positioned within natural clearings to preserve indigenous vegetation, respond to site contours and prevailing winds, and create a series of public and private spaces that foster discovery and belonging.

The initial phase centres on the “Great Lawn,” a generous open space around which the initial buildings are arranged, establishing the framework for future growth. The project emphasises sustainability, environmental sensitivity, and long-term development defined by an aspirational master plan.

a more in-depth look at this project

This project aimed to establish a new accommodation, training, and entertainment facility on a site west of Gqeberha, north of the N2 freeway.

The client’s brief was inspired by the imagery of “Wakanda” and guided the development towards a series of facilities along an active street, with a conference and wedding facility at the centre serving as a focal point for activities.

The site, oriented east-west and featuring areas of indigenous and exotic bush, focused on creating an Afrocentric resort experience.

The design aimed to integrate cultural elements and themes, providing visitors with an immersive experience that reflects diverse heritages while offering various amenities for accommodation, training, and entertainment.
